About FMTIS

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) is responsible for the technical command system structure of the Armed Forces. FMTIS is tasked with managing, leading, and executing the operation and maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems. The FMTIS Staff supports the unit commander in leading and managing the unit. The position is located at FMTIS STAB J3, the execution department.

The work in the execution department involves responsibility for planning and leading operations, short- and medium-term activities, and the unit's production. J3 also maintains the FMTIS VB service with scheduling and staffing. Under the J3 chief, you will be responsible for planning the unit's activities for the current year. The planning done in close collaboration with J5 mainly includes FMTIS operational assignments, FMTIS tasks in GROP, and the Armed Forces' training activities. You will belong to FMTIS (Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit) primarily based in Örebro and Enköping.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead planning within J3
  • Participate as a representative for FMTIS J3 at internal and external meetings
  • Plan and participate in exercises
  • Serve as duty officer outside regular working hours (H24) according to a rolling schedule

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Appointed OF 1-3/ OR 7-8
  • Experience working in a staff
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Driver's license at least for passenger car (B, manual transmission)
  • The work is independent with a great deal of personal responsibility where you lead the operations and have many personal contacts
  • We place great emphasis on personal suitability

DESIRABLE

  • Trained command system officer
  • Experience in exercise planning (larger exercises)
  • Experience in operational dialogue
  • Familiarity with ISUS and SWECCIS
  • Trained communications officer
  • Signal protection trained

  • Employment type: Permanent employment possibly with a 6-month probationary period.

  • Work location: According to agreement, but the majority of the time will be based in Enköping or Örebro.
  • Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
